The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Preview Is Here, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo and Illumination released the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will propel Mario to the outer limits of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Space-Faring Quest Based on Iconic Releases
Much like the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. During his grand adventure, he will encounter once more some familiar faces, for instance the Luma, a fan favorite from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Notably, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also includes nods to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow
The feature will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
A Significant Period for Mario
The new Mario movie is set to release around the time of the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for that year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
