Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
